SPORTS:
With their 31-14 win over the Cardinals yesterday, Green Bay is on a 2 game winning streak with a great opportunity to make it 3 in a row against Buffalo, in Buffalo next Sunday. The Packers are playing much better now and are executing better than anytime before today. “It can do nothing but build our confidence, and each week you see a different phase of our game get better. Who knows? Maybe we get on a run, “ said Brett Farve, who threw another TD pass to make it 406 for his career and even ran for another TD, his first running TD since 2001. SPORTS BY RON SVARC
Victory Slips From Packers Grasp

Green Bay had victory in its grasp, a tie for O.T. anyhow. It was Brett Favre of old. The score was 23-20 St Louis. With 1 minute left in the game, Green Bay had the ball on the St. Louis 9 yard line. It was 2nd and goal. Favre dropped back to pass. As he brought his arm up to pass, the rush from St. Louis knocked the ball from Bretts’ hand and after a lot of bouncing around, St. Louis fell on the ball and crushed the hearts of all Packer fans. No one feels worse than Brett Favre, himself, so close to a great victory. Brett had no interceptions although still too many dropped passes. Happy Birthday, anyhow, Brett. He’s 37 today, October 9, 2006.
